If 2025 was the year of versatility and the reinterpretation of classic styles, 2026 begins by reinforcing that direction with more movement and natural texture in men’s hair. At the barbershop, we continue to focus on cuts that clients can adapt to their everyday routine — styles that look polished, but never stiff. Fades are still very present, especially in low and taper versions, and they now coexist with medium lengths and slightly longer back sections that nod to an updated seventies-inspired aesthetic. In this context, these are the three haircuts we’ll be recommending the most in the chair as 2026 gets underway.

1. Soft mod cut, with razor work and movement

The mod cut we’re proposing for 2026 is a softer, more wearable version of the classic sixties-inspired haircut. We work it with soft sides, without going to extremes, and leave more length in the back and on top to create a more rounded, enveloping shape around the head.

The key is texture: we often use a texturizing razor to break up lines, remove excess weight, and create that lived-in movement clients can mess up easily with their hands. On top, we look for strands that move rather than a compact block; it can be styled forward with a light fringe or opened slightly to the sides for a more retro feel. It’s an ideal cut for straight or slightly wavy hair that needs more personality without relying on heavy styling.

2. Medium curly hair: soft curls take center stage

Medium curly hair is going to be one of the big stars of 2026, especially for those who already have natural curls and want to show them off with control. On the sides and back, we keep it shorter, cleaning up the outline so the overall result feels fresh and tidy, without turning into uncontrolled volume.

From the transition area upward, we start preserving more length and let the soft curl express itself on top. The goal here is to achieve a defined but flexible curl, with natural fall and a sense of lightness, avoiding the typical “helmet” effect. It’s a haircut that works especially well with lightweight finishing products, curl creams, and sprays that add hydration and shape without weighing the hair down. For many of our clients, this style will be the perfect alternative to the classic fade — more mature and full of identity.

3. Taper low fade with texture: the young crowd’s favorite

The taper low fade has become one of the standout haircuts among younger clients, and it will continue to be at the start of 2026. We’re talking about a very low, discreet but extremely clean fade, with a very close-cut nape and equally sharp sideburn areas that frame the face and enhance the top section. It’s the ideal option for anyone who wants a current, polished haircut that is also easy to maintain.

In this case, we work with a certain disconnection toward the top area, which we leave heavily textured and with slightly less volume than in previous years. The aim is for the hair on top to be worn forward, to play with more matte finishes, and to create a very urban look. Fringes are still being worn long, but from the barbershop we’ll be gradually recommending making them lighter over time, so the client gains comfort and the haircut feels more balanced. With a good matte styling product and a simple drying routine, this taper low fade becomes a must-have for 2026.

It’s crazy. There are days when nearly 40% of our clients were born outside of Spain.

Our story begins in 1959, when my father, Vicenç Moretó Sr., emigrated from Valencia to Barcelona. At that time, opportunities were scarce, but here he could earn three times more than in his hometown. It was a brave decision, taken in tough times, that marked the start of a great family journey.

From Employee to Owner

For years, my father managed Mr. Palomares’ barbershop, especially after the previous owner had an accident. Finally, in 1988, he took over the business and started a new chapter as both a barber and entrepreneur. That same year, inspired by his dedication, I began my studies in hairdressing and barbering in Santa Coloma, my hometown.

A Discovered Calling

I was never a great student—I’ll admit that—until I discovered my true calling: becoming a barber, manager, mentor, and communicator. From then on, everything changed.

Training and First Travels

In 2005, I started serious training with American Crew. I especially remember my trip to Mallorca for a global Crew event, with my newborn son only 15 days old. Later came Amsterdam, Rome, and Madrid—experiences that deeply enriched my perspective on the craft.

Three Generations of Clients

Our barbershop has welcomed up to three generations of clients who, in many cases, have become close friends. Seeing families continue to place their trust in us is one of our proudest achievements.

A Family Team

In 1998, Toni joined the team. For three years, my father, my nephew, and I worked side by side. It was an unforgettable time. In 2001, my father retired, and I took over the business.

The Move and the Present

In 2005, we moved to our current location on Joaquín Costa Street 51. Today, we celebrate 20 years in this space, where we’ve shared thousands of stories, haircuts, conversations, and meaningful moments with all of you.

For a while we tried to align this trip with major events and brands, but it couldn’t be finalized. However, where there’s a will, there’s a way. After several calls and negotiations, we ultimately decided that the ideal location would be Tecamachalco, Puebla.

What will I do in Mexico?
On June 7 and 8, I will be presenting my new project (which I’ll discuss in another post later): Careful Businesses, Profitable Businesses, which is an evolution of my “Every Day Counts” philosophy. Bringing my passion and expertise to professionals in another country is always a challenge, but also an honor and a great responsibility. I’ll share this experience with my friend and mentor Cheque the Barber, and together we’ll enjoy incredible days surrounded by friends and his wonderful family.

It all started when my father, Vicenç Moretó Sr., decided to move from his beloved Valencia to Barcelona. Times were tough, but he received a job offer that would allow him to earn three times what he made in Valencia. With great excitement, he and my mother settled in Santa Coloma de Gramenet, and my father began working in the Raval neighborhood (then known as the “Chinatown”).

From the very beginning, my father had a clear vision for his barbershop: to offer quality, continuous training, and build client loyalty. His hard work paid off, and to this day, we continue to serve clients from that era, as well as their children and grandchildren. Three generations trust us!

1988: A New Owner and New Generations

In 1988, my father officially became the owner of the business, and I took my first steps into the barbering world. Ten years later, in 1998, my nephew Toni (grandson of Vicenç Sr.) began studying barbering. During those years, we also had Ángel working with us — a unique character who juggled his time at the barbershop with jobs at Seat and even in bullfighting. Yes, in the bullring. Haha.

After completing my military service, I dedicated myself fully to the barbershop. In 2001, my father retired, and Toni officially joined the project.

The Move: From Ferlandina to Our Current Location

After four years on Ferlandina Street, we moved to our current location. A fun fact: before it became a barbershop, this space belonged to the founder of Caprabo, whose name comes from the initials of his last names: Carbó, Prat, and Botet. For a while, we even continued paying the water bill under the name of Mr. Pere Carbó — it amused me, so I never changed it.

A Living Legacy

Our barbershop is not just a business; it’s a family story passed down through generations. In another post, I’ll share the most memorable anecdotes from our time on Ferlandina Street. Such beautiful memories!
